Well what a weekend that was - it was more than a bit "full on" to say the least! To begin, we had been asked by the eldest to feed their cats (so in the mind of the youngest that was the priority!)  So on Saturday morning (because they did not need feeding until tea-time) we all headed off to Barnstaple.  The first port of call was to the electrical store (that has changed its' name more times than that I can remember) to make a formal complaint about the fridge that was purchased about 8 weeks ago. The problem being that said appliance has a habit of making ice despite being turned to less than 1 on the temperature control. The upshot of that visit was that I was asked to call again on Sunday to discuss the problem with a member of the team who has specialist knowledge about these appliances. Having left there I went to the iLab to collect my replacement pencil that was an exchange for the one that had failed. The cats were fed when we arrived back in Ilfracombe. Sunday...

  Hi, yesterday I had intended to catch up with these posts but as sometimes happens in my world towards the end of last week I had computer issues and they affected everything I was doing (including building and launching last week's Cauldron FM radio show) and until the issues are fully resolved I did not dare do anything creative. The situation was really embarrassing because the weekend was Samhain (one of the biggest events in the Pagan calendar) and we had some great music lined up and a special "Crystal of The Month" segment and it all fell over. Anyway we seem to have most of the issues under control but the computer was out of action all morning, so I am currently building a replacement show. "Trapped" ©2020 Wytchwynd Photography Recently I have been in a bit of a lull.  I have not felt much of anything to be perfectly honest, and one thing that is weighing me down is the situation regarding Alison's hip replacement. It is so hard to see someone that you love clearly in agony day on day on day!  The days turn into weeks and the weeks are turning into months. So anyway I decided that the time had come to do something about it, to work on making me feel more like my normal self and work to lift the weight off my shoulders.  (note: Please   don't for one minute think that I will be doing anything to jeopardise my marriage etc .) As a result of the brainstorming that I did I arrived at a list of things that I could do to lighten the tunnel that I felt I was in and I came up with the basis of a plan to help me deal with the situation. a)     return to nature / run free b)     break the chain c)     work towards a life less chaotic...

Wow!  How quickly has that last week gone?  The whole week seemed to be taken up with visiting the sick and infirm, helping Alison with her issues, work and attending to other personal matters.  I really did not have time to turn round and catch my breath. I had a call on Thursday from a friend (also a client) who was suffering with a back injury and during the call I did a silent Reiki treatment.  On Friday she called to say that she was feeling much better so I then offered to do a full healing treatment for her on Sunday when we visited her house which she welcomed. Unfortunately (my own fault) I did not advise her that before the treatment she should not consume any alcohol and when we arrived on Sunday she was walking round with a glass filled with a mix of wine and an energy drink.  I gave her an apology for not telling her and I advised that as a result of the alcohol I had to postpone the session to another date.   Standing The Norm On Its' Head There are a number of "common sense" rules for running a successful business and it is my contention that one of the most important has been immortalised by Sir Richard Branson!) In my early days working for the Boots Company Ltd. it was impressed upon me that the customer was always right (even if they were wrong)!  This statement is a maxim that still holds true today. The belief and standing instruction was   "always take care of the customer!" Every business course I have ever attended has always placed its' focus on the same point - that being - the customer is "king" and must always be "taken care of and put first!".  However, Mr Branson has added a further dimension to this!  He has taken the situation, and stood it on its head, and I have to say that I totally agree with him!   Hi and welcome to today’s blog We are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the new handle. Nobody will know how “disconcerting” it has been, let alone embarrassing to have lady visitors to the caravan unable to properly close the bathroom door if using the toilet. However, I have been categorically assured that the replacement is on its’ way via the Royal Mail. But the cynic in me warns “don’t hold your breath!” We shall see!
