"Trapped" ©2020 Wytchwynd Photography Recently I have been in a bit of a lull.  I have not felt much of anything to be perfectly honest, and one thing that is weighing me down is the situation regarding Alison's hip replacement. It is so hard to see someone that you love clearly in agony day on day on day!  The days turn into weeks and the weeks are turning into months. So anyway I decided that the time had come to do something about it, to work on making me feel more like my normal self and work to lift the weight off my shoulders.  (note: Please   don't for one minute think that I will be doing anything to jeopardise my marriage etc .) As a result of the brainstorming that I did I arrived at a list of things that I could do to lighten the tunnel that I felt I was in and I came up with the basis of a plan to help me deal with the situation. a)     return to nature / run free b)     break the chain c)     work towards a life less chaotic...

07/09/21 A Bit Of A Rant! (Part 1)

Hi and thank you for joining me on't blog today.  One which I am sorry to say is about venting off steam following recent events and a potentially ruined weekend away. Recently I had my caravan serviced and when I collected it I was told that they had discovered a small water leak - despite this "leak" not having manifest itself at any time prior to this service.  I was also told that they had managed to sort it out and that everything should be fine going forwards. Having parted with over £350 for said service, we took the caravan back to site and were really looking forwards to a nice, relaxing weekend with our friends. We arrived on site during Friday afternoon and went through all the set up processes and then with that done, we decided to make a drink.   I connected the water and when I went back out to get some more things from the car, the person next door told me that he had tightened the connection fitting because it was leaking. I thanked him and went back ...

06/09/21 My Ideal Day

Hi and welcome I hope that you have had a wonderful weekend - I know that I have!   So I thought having had such a great time I would devise a list of things that make up my ideal day! I wake up naturally and take my time preparing to greet the day ahead. I visit the bathroom, wash and clean teeth and spend 5 minutes in contemplation I dress and make a cup of coffee then  I write both my journal and my gratitude list  I visit my to do list and start working towards completing the things I have to do I clean my cameras ready for the photo shoot(s) that are booked I write any emails that I need to send    and read over my blog notes / planner    and having done this I start writing the new post After I am happy with that it is time to have lunch and then say bye to Alison if she is not coming with me. I (or We) leave the house and choose which vehicle we will use - if it is a country shoot we will probably take the Range Rover but if it is a town / city ...

If you do not speak........

Hi and welcome to today's post I was reading through some old bits and pieces and I came across a comment that I posted on my Instagram a couple of years ago. It is so simple and yet so many people fail to do it - and that surprises me! Just a few words and yet they convey such a great message      "If you do not speak, people will never hear you!"

An Umpty Flump!

Hi have you ever had one (or two) of those days when you feel that a lot of the people around you are just an inconvenience?   Or you think  that things are  "out to get you"  and you feel quite down. You know the type I mean where you just want to get on with the things that you want to get on with, but people have other ideas.  I call those "umpty flump*" days and I have been having a 24 hour one! It feels like being under a cloud. *umpty flump was a phrase from a children's television series called The Flumps

Back From My Holiday

What a fantastic week that was!  We had good company, great food, terrific weather, hot days, thunderstorms, heavy rain.  So all told a brilliant week.                                                                                   So there we have a few images from the family holiday to Devon.

Post Postponed for next week.

I have written this post to postpone the posts for the next week and when the postponement comes to an end the posting of posts will no longer be postponed and posts will begin again post haste.   But if I get chance to post during the posted posting break I will post as and when I am able.  plus if possible I may be able to post a post card as a post. Building A Radio Show

I had intended to write a post today about the building of a radio show............... but that went out of the window because of lots of other stuff coming to take my attention away from the job in hand......... So I do have the tracks in place, and I had fully intended to record the links today but people had other ideas, now 6 hours later and with nothing more done than I had at 9am I think the plan will be put on pause until tomorrow. Hey ho!  Such is life!

My Head Is Spinning.....

Oh Dear...... Having had a 4 way conversation with people in various parts of the country and Europe and everyone singing from a different hymn sheet - I have a headache! It seems that once particularly crucial piece of information has not arrived at its' destination (namely my desk) although 2 of the 4 think it has been sent............ If it has then it has got lost in transit to me............. and the 4th person just has no idea what is happening. So I am now going to sit in a corner, suck my thumb and hopefully when I wake again it will all be sorted.

Yesterday I recorded a video......

But The Post Has Nothing Much To Do With The Video..... I used the picture above because I like it - it was taken one Sunday morning and I thought that maybe someone had been enjoying themselves over a litter bin. Which is far more than I can say for my industry colleagues.   Actually, the video I recorded was a serious piece about coaching as we move out of lockdown (HA!) - try working in the industry I do.............  There is a serious undercurrent that suggests that many of the businesses in our industry sector may not survive long enough to exit lockdown. There has been precious little support from our (ahem! clears throat prior to choking) esteemed government. Not that I harbour any bitter thoughts ( at the moment ), but I do feel  a huge amount of concern for others in the same line of business / work as I am. Still onwards and upwards as they say and to the former owner of the stocking -  let's see if you can find a comfy litter bin ...

Is the dream about to become real?

After a long chat with one of my best friends last night - it would seem that an idea we have been talking around for many years has resurfaced. So is the dream about to become a reality this time round? I will keep all of my fingers and toes crossed tightly on that one but just in case, I won't hold my breath!

Time is nought.......

Time is nought but a man made thing And as such can neither begin nor end Eternity is always and for ever It goes on stretching into our future And back into the past. But in truth there is only ever NOW!

It is difficult........

I just got this post in during the morning - it is 1159 as I am writing it! If you have a relative (close or distant) who is at present in a Residential Care Home they are probably under a lockdown situation and their visits from family members are very much restricted. I came across a situation today that brought it home harder than ever..........a close family member is in one of these establishments and I have every reason to believe that he is receiving the best of care.   However the  home have  had a Social Distancing practice in place for some months now and that coupled with restricted visitor numbers has meant that my daughters have not been able to see their Grandad since January. They are finding this very hard to handle because they (rightly so) thing the world of him. So here is an urgent appeal to the Coronavirus / Covid 19 or whatever it is being called today and that is quite simply ....... DO ONE!

Face Coverings

Hello from Sunday morning I felt positively ill after wearing a face mask for the first time yesterday.  It was uncomfortable, caused my glasses to steam up and fell off with amazing regularity.  With all due respect to the person who made it for me, this piece of PPE apparel was downright uncomfortable. I know that it is something that this Government insists we should do but unless something more effective is found or the decision is changed I will be avoiding shops like the plague. I recall that just a few short months ago the world health organisation (WHO) advised that face coverings such as masks were not overly effective in preventing the transfer of Covid 19 droplets. I now understand that decision has been amended????? I have personally spoken to people who have been spending sums in the region of £5 for a single face covering. With a little research I have now found a satisfactory alternative to trial for just £1.99. I will report on its usability late...
