04/11/22 Upturn The Status Quo!

Upturning The         Status          Quo Hi and thank you for joining me for this week's blog post "Upturning The Status Quo! So let me begin this post by defining what "Status Quo" really means (and no it is not just the name of a highly successful band!) The dictionary definition of Status Quo is as follows "The existing state of affairs, especially regarding social of political issues"  "The way things are now!" In my role as a Personal Development coach I consider it my duty to challenge my clients' status quo - because if they do not change they will continue to remain exactly where they are!  That equates to my clients and I having exactly the same conversation a year from now!  Should that happen it would mean that I had been a crap coach! So that said, let me ask you a question...... "When was the last time you did something for the first time?" I would hazard a guess that if you had to tell me your answer,

28/10/22 Raising Awareness........

It has been announced that Live Music alone added £4.5 billion into the British economy during 2019 in addition to supporting over 210,000 jobs across the UK. Post Pandemic statistics show that up to 50% of the Live Music workforce is or has been facing unemployment and if this does come to be we will be faced with a catastrophic loss of skills. Another scary statistic is that performance venues have lost something in the region of 5 million visitors as a result of the Covid 19 situat

Friday Update 21/10/22

"I am a person who thinks,              not a number!" Merry Greetings from here in Ilfracombe Have you ever wondered how many people refer to you as what's her (or his) name.  They really don't know who you are and I often ask myself why this should be? I have a theory about this - maybe when they were told your name (either by yourself or someone else) they were not really concentrating on the job in hand or is something else at play?  It is a known fact that things you learnt only recently are actually the hardest to remember, because they have not embedded themselves in your mind. Also a lot of the time this happens because you were paying close enough attention to the information you were given.  It could be that you were desperately trying to prevent your wine from spilling out of your glass and onto the floor. Alternatively you may have been thinking about the shopping you need to buy instead of remembering where you put your car. It is a

Friday Update      (+ a cautionary note!) Hi thank you for joining me and welcome to this latest peek into the crazy world I inhabit! But first an introduction to me................ I am DAve! Musician, poet, songwriter, photographer, life coach, author, husband, dad and (although I really do not like to admit it that because of the fact that I am getting older) a Grandad to Owen and Evie. When I moved to N.Devon many years ago I had no plans for the future, I was working for myself and now all these years later I could not be much more settled if I tried. The only real drawback with the move was that because the area is slightly economically depressed there is not a lot of call for my (paid for) coaching services. However, that said, I still work in the entertainment industry that I love and that gives me my day to day living. Right enough about me............... let us take a look that something else A Cautionary Note (I do serious stuff here too you know!) It has been anno
