Dateline: Monday 8th November 2021

Well what a weekend that was - it was more than a bit "full on" to say the least!

To begin, we had been asked by the eldest to feed their cats (so in the mind of the youngest that was the priority!)

So on Saturday morning (because they did not need feeding until tea-time) we all headed off to Barnstaple.  The first port of call was to the electrical store (that has changed its' name more times than that I can remember) to make a formal complaint about the fridge that was purchased about 8 weeks ago.

The problem being that said appliance has a habit of making ice despite being turned to less than 1 on the temperature control.

The upshot of that visit was that I was asked to call again on Sunday to discuss the problem with a member of the team who has specialist knowledge about these appliances.

Having left there I went to the iLab to collect my replacement pencil that was an exchange for the one that had failed.

The cats were fed when we arrived back in Ilfracombe.

Sunday

After feeding the cats and dropping Dawn home it was another trip to Barnstaple to meet the specialist, then on to a famous Coffee House before heading back to Ilfracombe.

The afternoon passed relatively uneventfully and eventually we had to sort the cats again before going back to Barnstaple to view the Rugby Club's firework display.... at this point things really went down hill fast......

The traditional Chinese food cannot be ordered in advance......it has to be ordered in the shop and in previous years the owner has always placed the food in polystyrene containers but this year (for some peculiar reason known only to herself) she refused and said that the items would have to be packed separately.  I said that was not practical or what we actually wanted, but she remained stubbornly imovable.

Alison and Dawn decided that they wanted to carry on with the order but I chose not to.

Eventually we drove to our normal vantage point...............totally rammed!

We moved to the next one.....................totally rammed!

The third one offered a space but behind a clump of trees.......

by this time I was close to losing my cool!

The cork popped when Alison started quizzing me about my reasons for not ordering any food.

And the icing on the cake................when we arrived home we discovered that someone had broken the lid of our recycling box while we had been out.  So I had to repair that.

I eventually sat down to a plate of cheese on toast at about 8.45pm.

Not a happy bunny!

Good Morning and Merrie Meet Welcome to today's blog! "Flat Calm - next stop America"  It is a beautiful, blue sky day and as you can see in the photo the sea is a wonderful Flat Calm. It is at times like this when living in North Devon has significant plus points that come into play. The crowds have diminished, the roads are much quieter and safer and we are able to enjoy the late Summer Sunshine in comfort. This weekend is #3 with friends and the caravans, it is also "hopefully" the last one we will spend with a leaking shower unit. If I am lucky, I might get some time to write a few forward posts for the blogs, get some lyrics on paper for the latest album I want to record PLUS get some more photographs up on the Moor. BUT THEN AGAIN -  I may do none of those things and just CHILL! We will have to see. Anyway - whatever you choose to do with your weekend make it a great one and enjoy oooOOOooo Thanks for being there and thank you for reading this post! Please...

Hi and welcome to my Personal Blog. Let us begin with an apology for the missing couple of day's posts, but these days were taken up with hospital visits and also our Wedding Anniversary (Sept.28th) 47 years ago I married Alison, the love of my life!   We were married by Rev'd John Flory in the Parish Church of St.Chad, Patchway, Bristol and then we had the reception at Stanshawes Court Hotel, Yate, Bristol. It was a brilliant day celebrating with family and good friends and then it was followed by a Honeymoon in Paignton. Life then rambled on quite happily although there were a few ups and downs, there were  some fantastic moments plus a few horrendous ones, some comedy and some tragedy.  We have been blessed with 2 brilliant daughters who make us so proud and a little boy who didn't actually make a successful transition from womb to world but he is still and always will be our son. Eventually after navigating the twists and turns of life's journey we ended up livin...

18/11/22 Anger - Something To Be Aware Of!

Anger -  something  to be aware of! Anger is an emotion characterized by antagonism toward someone or something you feel has deliberately done you wrong. Anger can be a good thing. It can give you a way to express negative feelings, for example, or motivate you to find solutions to problems. But excessive anger can cause problems! Anger is a natural reaction that we experience if we feel threatened or frustrated. It is the first emotion that we experience and the last one we learn to manage effectively. Human infants begin to really display anger as early as 4 months old, and then as we get older we spend the rest of our lives denying it or suppressing it as a troublesome emotion. There are believed to be 2 main types of anger:- Destructive anger and Healing anger Destructive anger is expressed in an unhealthy way and causes harm. For example, a person may act out aggressively towards ot...
