         Friday Update

    (+ a cautionary note!)

Hi thank you for joining me and welcome to this latest peek into the crazy world I inhabit!

But first an introduction to me................ I am DAve!

Musician, poet, songwriter, photographer, life coach, author, husband, dad and (although I really do not like to admit it that because of the fact that I am getting older) a Grandad to Owen and Evie.

When I moved to N.Devon many years ago I had no plans for the future, I was working for myself and now all these years later I could not be much more settled if I tried.

The only real drawback with the move was that because the area is slightly economically depressed there is not a lot of call for my (paid for) coaching services.

However, that said, I still work in the entertainment industry that I love and that gives me my day to day living.

Right enough about me............... let us take a look that something else

A Cautionary Note (I do serious stuff here too you know!)

It has been announced that the DVLA have recently issued a warning to any driver who (like me) wears glasses.

If you are supposed to wear prescription glasses and you drive without them you are facing a fine of up to £1000 and 3 penalty points on your licence.

If you are involved in an accident and you were not wearing your glasses you are most likely to have invalidated your insurance policy

So that said if you are due for an eye test or to renew your driving licence I would seriously recommend that you get your sight tested to ensure that you remain within the law and remember

"don't drive without your glasses if you are supposed to wear them"

Look at me being all serious.....but then again lives are at risk with this one, it is a biggie.

So thank you for taking the time to read this post, have a fantastic week.

Be safe, be careful and above all, remember

Don't Predict The Future - CREATE IT!

DAve x

18/11/22 Anger - Something To Be Aware Of!

Anger -  something  to be aware of! Anger is an emotion characterized by antagonism toward someone or something you feel has deliberately done you wrong. Anger can be a good thing. It can give you a way to express negative feelings, for example, or motivate you to find solutions to problems. But excessive anger can cause problems! Anger is a natural reaction that we experience if we feel threatened or frustrated. It is the first emotion that we experience and the last one we learn to manage effectively. Human infants begin to really display anger as early as 4 months old, and then as we get older we spend the rest of our lives denying it or suppressing it as a troublesome emotion. There are believed to be 2 main types of anger:- Destructive anger and Healing anger Destructive anger is expressed in an unhealthy way and causes harm. For example, a person may act out aggressively towards ot...

Good Morning and Merrie Meet Welcome to today's blog! "Flat Calm - next stop America"  It is a beautiful, blue sky day and as you can see in the photo the sea is a wonderful Flat Calm. It is at times like this when living in North Devon has significant plus points that come into play. The crowds have diminished, the roads are much quieter and safer and we are able to enjoy the late Summer Sunshine in comfort. This weekend is #3 with friends and the caravans, it is also "hopefully" the last one we will spend with a leaking shower unit. If I am lucky, I might get some time to write a few forward posts for the blogs, get some lyrics on paper for the latest album I want to record PLUS get some more photographs up on the Moor. BUT THEN AGAIN -  I may do none of those things and just CHILL! We will have to see. Anyway - whatever you choose to do with your weekend make it a great one and enjoy oooOOOooo Thanks for being there and thank you for reading this post! Please...

OH MY DAYS - it is almost April !!!!! - where has that time gone?

Hi it's DAve and thank you for joining me on this page...............                                          I cannot believe that it is 4 (yes FOUR ) months since my last post on here.  That is so remiss of me and I can only apologise and start to rebuild the regularity as we go forwards. The calendar for this year is starting to fill up quite nicely which is good - we have Easter in early April followed by a wedding in Tavistock a couple of weeks later (sadly for me that actually clashes with an event I was going to be supporting (doing short coaching taster bytes) and because the bride is a long standing family friend I have no alternative but to attend. In addition I have been looking into different ways I can do something slightly different and as a result I have been writing some short stories (only 5 words) for example  "Alone in the darkness she wept!" or "Yester...
