"I am a person who thinks, not a number!"
Merry Greetings from here in Ilfracombe
Have you ever wondered how many people refer to you as what's her (or his) name. They really don't know who you are and I often ask myself why this should be?
I have a theory about this - maybe when they were told your name (either by yourself or someone else) they were not really concentrating on the job in hand or is something else at play? It is a known fact that things you learnt only recently are actually the hardest to remember, because they have not embedded themselves in your mind.
Also a lot of the time this happens because you were paying close enough attention to the information you were given. It could be that you were desperately trying to prevent your wine from spilling out of your glass and onto the floor.
Alternatively you may have been thinking about the shopping you need to buy instead of remembering where you put your car.
It is also a fact that if you are feeling tired, stressed or sick you are less likely to remember something you are told.
So what can be done?
One of the most important factors that contribute to memory issues can be poor diet and lack of exercise.
30 minutes exercise a day, a good diet and regular sleep (which helps your brain to file memories so you can access them later) are all beneficial aids to a better memory.
So there you go - looking after the body and taking regular exercise are beneficial for everyone!
So thank you for taking the time to read this post, have a fantastic week.
Be safe, be careful and above all, remember
Don't Predict The Future - CREATE IT!
