Dateline: Tuesday 21 September 2021

Hi today is a crisp late summer day here in North Devon and I have been out and about – it feels like autumn is just around the corner.

My car has now been serviced and MOT need and the bill will arrive with me soon.

So today I feel that I want to give you just a little insight regarding some of the work I do……

One of my earliest productions (Musical Director)

I am a therapist, life coach and musician on my own account

But professionally.....

For many years I have been involved in the entertainment industry – playing in bands, broadcasting, and for the past 20 years or so I have been a senior member of a team in a company that provides theatrical drapes and backdrops plus lighting effects to the World’s entertainment industry

Working with this company has enabled me to experience places that I could only dream off as a child and meeting people that I have only been able to admire from afar.

However I still remember the words that my Dad said to me when I was a teenager and I had expressed my ambition to work in the world of entertainment

He came out with the following statement that made me even more determined to set my sights firmly on proving him wrong.....

He said:-

"Nobody ever made £1 million honestly working in the entertainment industry!"

As it turns out I have still to become a millionaire, but the company I work with is £1 million plus company, I have friends who are “stars“ in the entertainment world and I have been fortunate enough to visit places with my work, that dad could only ever have dreamed of!

So “yes dad!” people can (and do) make £1 million honestly in the entertainment industry!

But I love you all the same!

OH MY DAYS - it is almost April !!!!! - where has that time gone?

Hi it's DAve and thank you for joining me on this page...............                                          I cannot believe that it is 4 (yes FOUR ) months since my last post on here.  That is so remiss of me and I can only apologise and start to rebuild the regularity as we go forwards. The calendar for this year is starting to fill up quite nicely which is good - we have Easter in early April followed by a wedding in Tavistock a couple of weeks later (sadly for me that actually clashes with an event I was going to be supporting (doing short coaching taster bytes) and because the bride is a long standing family friend I have no alternative but to attend. In addition I have been looking into different ways I can do something slightly different and as a result I have been writing some short stories (only 5 words) for example  "Alone in the darkness she wept!" or "Yester...

02/12/22 Making The Tea - an exercise in Strategy

Making The Tea!                                                     (an exercise in Strategy) Hi It's DAve Apologies for my recent absence but family matters took over and I did not have the opportunity to write a blog post last week. Anyway I am now back again and here is this week's offering from the sometimes warped mind of Your's Truly! As a Personal Development Coach I am often asked about Goal Setting so here is my approach to that very subject:- All too often we set goals but very rarely do we create a plan of how we aim to achieve that goal. Having given the matter some thought I have defined a process and that involves "Starting At The End!" Yes, I know that seems mad, but how can you get to where you are g...

08/09/21 "Casing The Joint!"

Hi everyone it's DAve Thank you for joining me on today's blog post.   Today is Wednesday and I really hope that it is less hectic than yesterday.  After a full day at the office and with Alison confined to bed after a very disturbed night I had to go to Barnstaple after work and collect a replacement fridge, because the other one "bit the dust" Photo: "Three Suns"  ©2021 wytchphotog The photograph featured above almost got me into trouble........ I spotted the reflection of the sun in three different places at the same time and because it was an unusual sight I decided to capture the image - well people thought I was "casing the joint" and they threatened to "call the Police" until I explained what I was doing and showed them the image. Because of the water situation at the caravan we checked with Tina about her impending visit at the weekend and her response was a very definite "of course I am coming to our caravan, why wouldn'...
